Suggestive checklist of documents for ITR Filing 2024

Form 16 (All Form 16s in case of more than one employer/ change in employment during the year)

Form 26AS, AIS and TIS for the AY 2024-25 (if you are a new client) 

If you have a house property/ properties 
o Interest certificate in case of home loan during FY 2023-24 (Whether rented / self-occupied/ vacant) 
o Details of 12 months rent from house property (if rented out) 
o Address of the respective properties and the name of the tenants (if rented out) 
o Property tax paid (if rented out) 

If you hold RSL / ESOPs listed in a foreign jurisdiction 
o Statement from your company for RSL]/ ESOPs vested during FY 2023-24 along with the FMV details 
o Details of sale of ESOPS during the financial year (date of sale, bank credit owing to the sale and the corresponding vesting date with FMV on date of vesting) 

Stock market transactions - Capital gain/ loss statements or Tax P&L tradebooks from all your brokers in case of F&O/ Intraday/ equities/ debt mutual funds and/ or stocks sold during April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024 

For persons carrying on business/ profession - Bank statement with your comments in the last column with respect to nature of income and expense during the FY 2023-24

Receipts for medical premium deduction u/s 80D if not considered in the Form 16.

Donation receipts, if any for 80G deduction if not considered in the Form 16. And for 80G, We would need 10BE from the trust / donee since we need to mention it's number in ITR.


Details of any other incomes or expenditures for claiming deduction/ exemption that we need to be aware of and not covered above. 

Any other significant details for us to know (like non-resident status, sale of property, clubbing of income).
